Research Fellow Recruitment

We invite applications for a full-time Research Fellowship at the Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore. The Fellow will work on a research project on local governance, performance management and policy making in China. The duration of the appointment will be one year in the first instance. Contracts are renewable, subject to performance and the availability of funding.

 The Research Fellow will work closely with a research team consisting of members from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Duties will include, inter alia, surveying literature and websites, collecting and coding data, transcribing interview records, drafting conference and research articles, and assisting in the organization of two small-scale international workshops.

The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Economics, or another cognate field, and will ideally currently be working on contemporary China. An existing publication record or potential for publication would be a distinct advantage. Chinese literacy is essential.

The position offers a competitive remuneration and benefits package, depending on the candidate’s qualifications, track record, experience and potential.
