LIST OF MODULES BY SUBFIELDS

Students should read the modular paper applicable to their specific cohort in conjunction with the respective major requirements. 

SINGLE MAJOR (HONOURS) - Cohort 2016 onwards
1.  Pass PS1101E. This will be counted towards the Faculty Core or UE requirements.
2. Pass at least 84 MCs of PS modules or PS-recognised modules which include the following:
  a) PS3257
 
b) A minimum of ONE* module from the following (Singapore Politics): 
       (i) PS2249 (CP)
       (ii) PS2244 (GPP)
       (iii) PS3249 (IR)
       * The above may be used to fulfill requirement (c) below
  c) A minimum of ONE module from each of the following subfields:
       (i) Comparative Politics (CP)
       (ii) International Relations (IR)
       (iii) Political Theory (PT)
       (iv) Governance and Public Policy (GPP)
  d) A minimum of 60 MCs at level 3000 or higher, with 
       (i) a minimum of 40 MCs at level-4000 or higher and
       (ii) a maximum of 2 level-5000 PS modules (subject to department's approval) 
   
SINGLE MAJOR (NON-HONOURS) - Cohort 2016 onwards
1. Pass PS1101E. This will be counted towards the Faculty Core or UE requirements.
2. Pass at least 44 MCs of PS modules or PS-recognised modules which include the following:
  a) PS3257
  b) A minimum of ONE* module from the following (Singapore Politics):
       (i) PS2249 (CP)
       (ii) PS2244 (GPP)
       (iii) PS3249 (IR)
  * The above may be used to fulfil requirement (c) below
  c) A minimum of ONE from each of the following subfields:
       (i) Comparative Politics (CP)
       (ii) International Relations (IR)
       (iii) Political Theory (PT)
       (iv) Governance and Public Policy (GPP)
  d) A minimum of 20 MCs at level-3000 or higher**
       **Students are allowed to read level-4000 modules subject to departmental approval.
   
SECOND MAJOR - Cohort 2016 onwards
1. Pass PS1101E. This will be counted towards the Faculty Core or UE requirements.
2. Pass at least 44 MCs of PS modules or PS-recognised modules which include the following:
  a) PS3257
 
b) A minimum of ONE* module from the following (Singapore Politics):
       (i) PS2249 (CP)
       (ii) PS2244 (GPP)
       (iii) PS3249 (IR)
       * The above may be used to fulfil requirement (c) below
  c) A minimum of ONE module from each of the following subfields:
       (i) Comparative Politics (CP)
       (ii) International Relations (IR)
       (iii) Political Theory (PT)
       (iv) Governance and Public Policy (GPP)
  d) A minimum of 20 MCs at level-3000 or higher**
       ** Students are allowed to read level-4000 modules subject to departmental approval.
  ***  A maximum of 8 MCs may be double counted between two majors(where possible and subject to approval).

MINOR
Pass at least 24MCs of PS or PS-recognised modules which include the following:
1. PS1101E
2. A minimum of ONE* module from the following (Singapore Politics):
  (i) PS2249 (CP)
  (ii) PS2244 (GPP)
  (iii) PS3249 (IR)
  * The above may be used to fulfil requirement (3)
3. A minimum of ONE module from each of the following subfields:
  (i) Comparative Politics (CP)
  (ii) International Relations (IR)
  (iii) Political Theory (PT)
  (iv) Governance and Public Policy (GPP)
4. **A minimum of 8MCs of PS modules at level-3000 (including modules listed above). 
  **Double-counting only applies where PS minor modules are officially recognised by the other major or minor.
